The newest member of the Sutter family arrived by Caesarean section weighing 6 pounds, 2 ounces and measuring 19 inches.

Trista and Ryan wed in 2003 after meeting on the debut edition of ABC's The Bachelorette the year before. They welcomed their son, Maxwell Alston Sutter (above), on July 26, 2007.

Guy Ritchie "Saddened" By Madonna's Rejected Adoption Request

Guy Ritchie has expressed his sadness over ex Madonna's failed attempt to adopt 3-year-old Chifundo "Mercy" James from Malawi.

"Madonna is a fantastic and loving mother who cares deeply about her own children, and children who may need additional help and support," he said in a statement Friday.

"I fully supported Madonna in her decision to apply for this adoption, and I am saddened that her application has been rejected. She is motivated only by being a caring parent who seeks to share some of the advantages and opportunities that her life has given her," he said of his ex, who has appealed Friday's surprise ruling.

"This time it did not work out, but there will be other opportunities and I wish her well in them," Ritchie concluded. "She is a great mum."

Madonna and Ritchie -- who divorced last year after eight years of marriage -- adopted David Banda from Malawi in 2006.

Ben Affleck Talks About Life With Two Daughters

On Thursday's Tonight Show With Jay Leno, Ben Affleck opened up about life with two daughters in the house.

The busy dad revealed that he’s been spending more time with his 3-year-old daughter Violet since little sister Seraphina was born in January, saying, “Dad gets a little bit more responsibility with the older one, which is nice.”

Ben reported that Violet is adjusting well to having a new baby in the house, and that he’s been trying to reassure his wife Jennifer Garner that he’s got things “under control” while she tends to little Seraphina.

He describes a recent daddy-daughter date at a Mexican restaurant:
After Violet dumped both of their drinks all over the table - and him! - Ben was halfway through exclaiming, “Sh**!” before he corrected himself and used the German curse, “Sheisse!” instead.

Of course Violet wanted to know what the word meant. When Ben told her, “It’s a bad word, and we don’t say that,” Violet’s interest was definitely piqued. Dinner ended with her standing on her chair yelling, “Sheisse!” at the top of her lungs.

While friends and family gather in Costa Rica to help Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen celebrate their wedding weekend, Bridget Moynahan – the mother of Brady's 1½-year-old son, John Edward Thomas Moynahan – is headed to Vancouver, to start a new movie.

But in the week leading up to the festivities in Central America, a soap opera involving all three adults was shaping up, kicking off with Bündchen's expansive remarks to Vanity Fair, in which she said she considered young John Edward her very own child. "It's not like because somebody else delivered him, that's not my child," said the supermodel, 28. "I love him the same way as if he were mine. I already feel like he's my son, from the first day."

That apparently didn't sit well with those in Moynahan's inner circle. A source close to the 37-year-old model-actress said, "Bridget has her own life, she doesn't need to be involved in the drama of all this, and she finds it disrespectful that her son is being paraded around in front of the paparazzi when she’s specifically made it a point of keeping him away from that."

The source went on to say pointedly, "I can count on two hands, in two years, the number of times Bridget has been photographed with that baby. I can count on two hands the number of times in the past month that Gisele has been photographed with that baby."

It's a third girl for celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, who became a father again on Friday.

Oliver's wife, Jools, took a photo in skinny jeans only hours after giving birth to Petal Blossom Rainbow at 2:46 a.m.

The baby, who weighed 6 lb., 10 oz., joins sisters Poppy Honey, 7, and Daisy Boo, 5, in the Oliver household.

Her anticipated arrival was first announced in September. Oliver, who only two days ago was cooking for world leaders at 10 Downing Street, was at his wife's side at London's Portland Hospital for the birth.

No Mercy For Madonna:Adoption Request Denied!

A residency requirement in Malawi has prevented Madonna from adopting a second child from the African nation, a judge and a lawyer told the Associated Press on Friday.

The news service described the judge as a witness not involved in Friday's court ruling, and the lawyer as another who was present at the time of the decision. Both the judge and the lawyer spoke on conditions of anonymity.

The residency requirement for prospective parents is 18 to 24 months in Malawi. Madonna has homes in New York and London. Madonna, 50, adopted her son, David Banda, now 3, from Malawi in 2008. The move was not without its controversy, amid claims that her application received special status because of her celebrity.

The singer, a single mother, was planning to adopt 3½-year-old Mercy James, whom she first met in an orphanage in 2006. Her other children are daughter Lourdes, 12, and son Rocco, 8. There has been no word on whether Madonna intends to appeal the ruling.

When her Malawian lawyer, Alan Chinula, broke the news that High Court judge Esme Chombo had rejected her petition to adopt a Malawian toddler, an incredulous Madonna "kept wringing her hands," a source at Kumbali Lodge, where the pop star is staying.

Madonna, who filed her adoption papers on Monday, was not present in court. At the hearing, the judge said child welfare officers are required to find suitable prospective parents and "not someone who just flies in and out."

In terms of the child, "I think the welfare of Chifundo [African for 'Mercy'] will be better served if she grows within the environment of the culture of Malawi," she said. The judge also said that because Madonna is already assisting other orphans, Chifundo will still benefit from star's generosity

Suri Cruise Entertains The Paparazzi

Katie Holmes and her adorable daughter Suri Cruise, who turns three later this month, were seen leaving a dance studio in Malibu on Thursday. Suri seemed in good spirits as the paparazzi snapped away. She even waved at one point.

Spending each and every day this week together, the girls spent the previous day shopping up a storm with Suri at the American Girl store (photos below).

The pair have also enjoyed daily lunch dates and a visit to the Scientology Center while they ease back into life on the west coast.

Suri’s famous dad, 46-year-old Tom Cruise, said he and the family try to remain positive with the ever-present paps: “I have to say some of those paparazzi shots of my daughter are incredible. As a parent you protect your children but Suri is a very open and warm child and she will just wave to people on the street. She is such [a] happy, fun girl. It is certainly different these days with the media, but people have been very good to us and do give us space so I am not going to be difficult.”

Madonna Celebrates Adoption Of Mercy James By Throwing A Party In Malawi

Madonna is celebrating the adoption of three-year-old Mercy James — expected to be approved by a judge tomorrow morning — by throwing a party in Malawi.

Raising Malawi staff (who facilitated the adoption), government officials and teachers Madonna recruited for her Raising Malawi Academy are currently partying with the singer at the luxe Kumbali Lodge.

Earlier today, a truck carrying traditional dancers was spotted arriving at the lodge. "We have been hired to perform for Madonna," a man carrying a traditional drum made of cow hide told a local. "We are very excited."

Mercy's uncles, Peter Baneti and John Ngalande, arrived at the event early. They signed off on adoption papers Monday -- despite outcry from non-governmental organizations that accuse Madonna of using her wealth and celebrity status to bend Malawi's adoption laws.

"Mercy is now assured of a good education away from the abject poverty of our village," Baneti said earlier today. "Madonna has assured us she will not cut her ties with us."

Madonna's three-year-old adopted son, David Banda, visited with his birth father, Yohane Banda, last Sunday (see photos below).

Judge Esme Chombo is expected to sign off on the adoption during a Friday hearing at Lilongwe High Court at 8:30 a.m. local time.

Charlie Sheen's Son Remains Hospitalized

At just over 2 weeks old, Max Sheen is already in the spotlight as questions swirl about why he has yet to leave the L.A. hospital where he was born – along with his brother Bob – on March 14.

"Charlie and Brooke's infant son Max remains in the hospital, not because of a heart condition as reported, but because he has not gained the weight necessary to leave hospital," Sheen's publicist, Stan Rosenfield, says in a statement.

"Max is expected to reach the weight requirement shortly and will join his brother at home." Proud papa Sheen jokes that his son is suffering from a common affliction: aversion to hospital food.

"The weight issue is very common among infants who were born before reaching full term," Sheen says. "I know a lot of people are not fond of hospital food; I just didn't realize that they started so young."

Max and Bob were the first for Sheen, 43, and wife Brooke Mueller Sheen, 31. The Two and a Half Men actor has daughters, Sam, 4, and Lola, 3, with ex-wife Denise Richards, and another, 24-year-old Cassandra, from a previous marriage.

"The Sheens appreciate the outpouring of concern," his rep says, "but have assured everyone that both Bob and Max are fine."

Bridget Moynahan Not Happy About Gisele's Comments!

A friend of Bridget Moynahan's has lashed out at Gisele following her comments to the May issue of Vanity Fair (if you missed them - scroll down) about Moynahan's son.

Moynahan is the mom of Gisele's toddler stepson John, who was conceived with Tom Brady just before the pair broke up and he starting dating Gisele. The now-newlyweds found out about Moynahan's pregnancy when they had been dating for two months.

Gisele has yet to meet Moynahan, Vanity Fair reported.

One of Moynahan's friends unloaded to the NY Post:

"If Gisele loved Bridget's child like he was '100 percent her own,' then she would not talk about him in the press. Discretion and respect are not either of Gisele or Tom's virtues, as was evidenced even when the child was still unborn and they publicly flaunted their relationship without any discretion whatsoever.

"If Tom is such a great father as everyone likes to say, then you would think that he'd respect the privacy of his young child and would ask his wife not to use his son as a publicity prop and a subject of public discussion."

In Vanity Fair Gisele not only said John was "100 percent her child" but also:

He's my little angel -- the sweetest, most cuddly, loving baby. I feel blessed to have him in my life. I understand that he has a mom, and I respect that. But to me, it's not like because somebody else delivered him, that's not my child -- I feel it is, 100 percent."

Moynahan's friend's final slam was, "Hey Gisele -- real mothers don't call their kids 'it.' "

Madonna Walks With Her Daughters Lordes & Mercy James

Madonna has hit back at criticism of her plans to adopt Malawian orphan Mercy James, insisting she had followed all the 'standard procedures' required.

Her defensive statement comes after the singer was photographed with the little girl for the first time during a walk in the grounds of the Home of Hope orphanage in Mchinji.

The four-year-old is seen looking anxiously at the cameraman as she holds the hand of her new 'sister' Lourdes, with her future mother standing just inches away dressed in a T-shirt, sarong and panama hat.

Madonna and her three children Lourdes, Rocco and Malawi-born David have been in the impoverished southern African country since Sunday.

The Material Girl appeared in court on Monday in her bid to convince judges of her suitability to adopt Mercy, whose 18-year-old mother died five days after giving birth to her, and is expecting to hear the ruling on the matter on Friday.

Her plan to adopt Mercy has been met with a storm of controversy, just as her adoption of David, whose father Yohane Banda is still alive, did in October 2006.

The reality TV star and fashion diva has entered into a multiproduct, multiyear licensing agreement with manufacturers Rick and Brian Cytrynbaum — who own multiple brands including Modern Vintage shoes and Earnest Sewn jeans.

Richie's debut House of Harlow 1960 lifestyle line, which will bow in spring '10, will include about 20 footwear styles, as well as a small assortment of apparel, bags, sunglasses, belts and other small accessories.

According to Rick Cytrynbaum, Richie has had complete creative control from day one. “Nicole is designing everything herself. She’s totally devoted to this, and we’re creating a whole lifestyle around her aesthetic and what is true to her,” he told FN.

After 13 years together, Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel are expecting their first baby, their rep confirms. The baby is due later this year.

The Private Practice star, 38, and the Tony award-winning actress, 37, first met on the original 1996 Broadway production of Rent in NYC. After seven years of dating, they got married in January 2003.

Menzel hinted last January that once she finished promoting her third solo album, I Stand, she would consider starting a family with Diggs.

"It's definitely in the plans, I'll settle down and start popping out some babies."
She said Diggs has been ready for kids since "the day I met him."

Sunday Rose may have been born on a Monday, but Keith Urban says his daughter's name has a bittersweet meaning.

Madonna has confirmed her attempts to adopt a young Malawian girl and said through a spokeswoman that she is following standard procedures in adopting the child amid criticism by some that she was using her fame to quicken the process.

The 50-year-old pop superstar also confirmed she took her 3-year-old son David, also adopted from Malawi, to visit with his biological father Yohane Banda for the first time since she and David left the country in 2006.

"Madonna is committed to maintaining an ongoing relationship with David's Malawian roots," said Liz Rosenberg in a statement Tuesday morning.

Madonna arrived in the African nation this week with David, her 12-year-old daughter Lourdes and 8-year-old son Rocco, and has toured the country and also visited a day care center built by her charity.

But she also came to the country in attempts to bring home another child from Malawi. In her statement, Madonna confirmed she is trying to adopt a girl named Chifundo "Mercy" James who is about 4 years old.

Malawian welfare official and another person involved in the proceedings had confirmed an adoption application was under way and spoke on condition of anonymity because the case is considered sensitive.

The girl's 18-year-old mother was unmarried and died soon after she gave birth, according to the child's uncle, John Ngalande. Her father is believed to be alive but has little contact with his daughter, he said.

'Yeah, my mind says yes, but the rest isn't up to me -- so we'll see,' Berry, 42, says on an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres show that airs March 31."

It sounds like Halle and her partner, Gabriel Aubry, (Nahla's father) have some talking to do, since Gabriel has publicly stated his desire for more children.

There is one thing Halle seems sure about, however.
