Taye Diggs & Idina Menzel Expecting First Baby

After 13 years together, Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel are expecting their first baby, their rep confirms. The baby is due later this year.

The Private Practice star, 38, and the Tony award-winning actress, 37, first met on the original 1996 Broadway production of Rent in NYC. After seven years of dating, they got married in January 2003.

Menzel hinted last January that once she finished promoting her third solo album, I Stand, she would consider starting a family with Diggs.

"It's definitely in the plans, I'll settle down and start popping out some babies."
She said Diggs has been ready for kids since "the day I met him."
"He wouldn't talk about marriage, but he'd talk about me having his children, He's always wanted kids. He grew up with four younger brothers and sisters, so he's very comfortable around children."

How do they keep their marriage together?

"We just really work hard to try to stay best friends, I love him so much, and I feel like we both have each other's backs, and we have a great respect for each other. We're enjoying each new phase of our lives together."
