Jade Goody Expected To Undergo Surgery To Relieve 'Terrible Pain' In Her Stomach

Cancer-stricken Jade Goody, who was rushed to hospital last night in agony, is expected to have an emergency operation today to help relieve the 'terrible pain' in her stomach.

The 27-year-old Big Brother star returned to the Royal Marsden Hospital, in Fulham, south-west London, from the Essex hospice where she was being treated for her terminal illness.

But her publicist, Max Clifford, said he was not sure if the operation to clear a blockage in her bowel would still go ahead as expected. 'I imagine they take a view once she's there and decide what they can do, what's the best thing for her,' he told GMTV.

According to Clifford, the reality TV star had her first 'good night's sleep' for several days after she was given pain relief.

He said Goody's sons, Bobby, five, and Freddie, four, may visit their mother in hospital today 'providing she is well enough and out of pain'.
